(A) Db/db mice were fed either a control diet (Ctr, AIN-93G), a diet supplemented with 15% HAMS, or a diet supplemented with 15% HAMSB for 5 weeks. Blood glucose, body weight and food intake were measured weekly. After 5 weeks, the mice were sacrificed, and tissues were collected for analyses. SCFA concentrations were measured in the feces (B–E) and plasma (F–I) of db/db mice at the end of the study. Bars show the mean ± SEM. * p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01 and **** p < 0.0001.
