Gastroesophageal varices (GOV) GOV 1: gastroesophageal varices extended below the gastroesophageal junction along the lesser curvature of the stomach (as a continuation of esophageal varices that are always present)
GOV 2: gastroesophageal varices extended below the gastroesophageal junction into the fundus of the stomach (as a continuation of esophageal varices that are always present)
Isolated gastric varices
(IGV)
IGV 1: isolated gastric varices located in the fundus of the stomach and fall off the cardia by a few centimeters
IGV 2: isolated ectopic varices appearing in other locations of the stomach (body, antrum, pylorus) or in the duodenum.
