Mitochondrial respiratory competence upon NaCl stress. Wild type (WT) and mutant cells (rtg2∆, hap4∆, hap4∆rtg2∆) grown overnight in YPD medium were diluted to 0.1 OD₆₀₀ in fresh liquid YPD with or without 0.8 M sodium chloride (NaCl). After 5 h, cells were diluted to 1 OD₆₀₀ and ten-fold serial dilutions were spotted on YPD and YPGly plates. Growth was scored after 2–5 days. The images reported are representative of three independent experiments.
