CIT2 expression under high osmotic environment. Wild type (WT) and mutant cells (hap4Δ, rtg2Δ, hap4Δrtg2Δ) grown overnight in YPD medium were diluted to 0.1 OD600 in fresh liquid YPD with or without 0.8 M sodium chloride (NaCl). After 5 h, cells were collected for RNA extraction, mRNA levels were measured by quantitative PCR, and the cells grown without NaCl stress were used as calibrator. The relative amount of CIT2 mRNA was calculated according to the comparative method (2−ΔΔCt). Values are mean ± SD of three independent experiments.
