Upregulation of CXCL12 did not induced peripheral immune cell infiltration in the spinal cord at the initial stage. At the initiation stage of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and myelin basic protein (MBP) was similar in all three groups, indicating that the myelin sheath was intact. During this period, the OPC (NG2 +) and leukocyte (CD45 +) signals in the spinal cord were low. The bar charts show fluorescence intensity.
