Influence of proteostatic stress on cellular fitness. (A) Upon increase of proteotoxic stress, cells activate stress response regimes, ensuring on keeping cellular processes functional. Overburden results in the collapse of the proteostasis system and occurrence of aggregates, leading to drastically decreased cellular healthspan.
