Single-cell RNA sequencing shows the abundance of infiltrating immune cells in HNSCC. (A) NHSCC samples positively correlated with the abundance of T Cells CD8, T Cells CD4, fibroblasts, malignant cells, and dendritic cells. Notably, fibroblasts were the most significantly correlated (B-D) SPARC/MMP9/CD44 were more expressed in C2 (IFN-gamma dominant); C3 (inflammatory); C4 (lymphocyte depleted); C5 (immunologically quiet); C6 (TGF-b dominant), as compared to the wound healing, thus suggesting that the overexpression of SPARC/MMP9/CD44 signature promotes tumor invasiveness, progression, and metastasis in HNSCC samples. P-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
