Plant-produced HPV16 L1 VLPs elicit strong immune response in mice. The healthy female BALB/c mice were injected subcutaneously with 10 µg of HPV16 L1 VLPs or PBS alone twice in a 2-week interval. Sera were collected at 42 dpi and used to assess the titer of IgG levels by ELISA. For ELISA, assembled (a) or 0.2 M NaHCO₃-treated (b) HPV L1 VLPs were used for titration of IgG levels.
