Structure and function of the bone marrow hematopoietic niche. The bone marrow hematopoietic niche is the spatial location and physiological microenvironment for the survival and self-renewal of hematopoietic stem cells, which is mainly composed of blood vessels, nerve, mesenchymal stem cells and endothelial cells. It maintains a dynamic balance between self-renewal and differentiation of stem cells. Regulatory T cells are located in bone marrow and protect hematopoietic stem cells from immune attack.
