Baltic 83B was gold coated for SEM analysis. (B) CT renders of the dorsal, lateral and ventral views of the complete body of the C. tertiotertiaria specimen. Voxel size = 1.4 μm. The excavation on the dorsal side is indicative of the extraction location of the cuticle flakes for FTIR analysis. The excellent preservation allows the segmentation of the female genitalia of the insect on the right.
