Apigenin reduced chondrocyte apoptosis in OA mice. Above are representative photographs of TUNEL staining in articular cartilage sections (magnification, ×40), The blue fluorescence is DAPI and the red fluorescence is TUNEL. Compared with the N group, the OA group showed a significant increase in TUNEL-positive cells, and the apoptosis of cells was increased. Apigenin, however, reduced apoptosis.
