The signalling delivery methods of extracellular vesicles. (I) EVs carry specific signalling molecules on the surface of their lipid membranes and bind to receptors on the surface of target cells; (II) EVs transport receptors via membrane fusion with recipient cells; (III) EVs release the cargo packed inside the vesicle directly into the recipient cytoplasm.
