RP provide wide scope for developing standardized traditional formulation, traditional or non-traditional plant extract, bioactive fraction, single active principle, its analogues and derivatives. However, the traditional formulations have diverse utility and better safety profile but the precision and specificity is relatively less. Whereas, actives and derivatives have more precision and specificity in the drug action but the safety and diversity are potentially compromised. Hence, the phytopharmaceutical product such as Picroliv is expected to strike this balance.
