Fig. 1 — Potential transmission routes in dental practice. Most viral or bacterial diseases can be transmitted airborne by droplets or aerosols from infected patients to susceptible individuals. In dental practice, dental HCPs can get infected directly by patients, increased by the generation of aerosols during dental treatments. Furthermore, they can get infected from contaminated surfaces. This scheme has been adopted and modified from Peng et al. [18]
