Clinical significance of fake IT phase. Patients in the fake IT phase had a higher risk of liver-related events (liver cirrhosis and HCC) than those in the true IT phase. Age, HBV DNA load, platelet count, and serum levels of albumin or AST can be used to suspect the presence of the fake IT phase.
