Irinotecan (IR) induces liver injury in mice. Mice were intraperitoneally injected with IR (50 mg/kg) or solvent (saline) every three days for 3 weeks. Effects of IR on (A) liver index, serum levels of (B) ALT and (C) AST, and (D) hepatic TG content. Data are presented as mean ± SD (n = 8), *P < 0.05 and **P < 0.01 compared with normal control (NC) group. (E) Liver sections were stained with H&E and Oil Red O to evaluate lipid accumulation. (F) Western blot analysis of SREBP-1c protein level in liver tissue. (G) Densitometric quantification of SREBP-1c. The blots were cut prior to hybridisation with indicated primary antibodies.
