The model was adjusted for patient sex, race/ethnicity, primary insurance provider, relative neighborhood median household income, and relative neighborhood percentage of the population with a bachelor’s degree. Males, non-Hispanic Black, and patients with Medicaid/self-pay/other primary insurance had increased odds while Hispanic patients had decreased odds of tracheostomy insertion.
