Effect of Cs and pARG particles on the viability of human monocyte-derived macrophages: (a) Macrophages were treated with different concentrations of DSs for 72 h or (b) treated with 1 mg/mL of DSs for different periods. The tested DSs were loaded with anti-CstC siRNA or scramble control siRNA. A transfection reagent (ScreenfectA) was used for comparison. Macrophage viability was measured using PrestoBlue (resazurin-based solution) by quantifying the fluorescence emission in a plate reader. Results were calculated relative to untreated macrophages (100% viability) and 0.05 % Igepal-treated macrophages (0% viability).
