FIGURE 6.

Structural strength, apparent modulus and apparent strain values for baseline slings (collagen, or PP), explanted collagen sling + tissue complex, and explanted PP sling + tissue complex at different time points. Maximum load indicates the ultimate load bearing capacity of test samples whereas “strain at maximum stress” reflects the extensibility of specimens. An apparent strain value of 1 pertains to 100% extension from the original length of the sample. Material properties for abdominal fascial strips and vagina are also provided as reference points of the apparent modulus and apparent strain at maximum stress for native tissues. For mechanical testing (n = 3), averages and standard deviation are presented for 6-month samples as well as the individual data points.
