Addition of serum to serum-starved 5637 cells causes actin cytoskeletal rearrangement. Tissue culture cells in chamber slides were slowly serum starved over a period of several days and then incubated in medium containing 10% serum for 10 to 30 min at 37°C in 5% CO₂. The cells were fixed and then stained with FITC-phalloidin to visualize the F-actin. (A) HEp-2 cells maintained in standard medium. (B) Serum-starved HEp-2 cells.
