Figure 1.

Figure 1 is an error bar graph, plotting difference in the probit of polycystic ovarian syndrome, ranging from negative 0.20 to 0.20 in increments of 0.10 (y-axis) across Quantiles of natural log-transformed plasma per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances mixture, ranging from 0.3 to 0.7 in increments of 0.1 (x-axis).

Overall joint associations of PFAS mixture (estimates and 95% confidence intervals) with the PCOS prevalence in Chinese women diagnosed with infertility estimated by Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) (n=943) (see Excel Table S5 for corresponding numeric data). All estimates were adjusted for age (continuous), BMI (categorical), annual household income (categorical), educational level (categorical), study site (categorical), age at menarche (continuous), and menstrual volume (categorical). This figure plots the estimated difference in the probit of PCOS when exposures are at a particular percentile (x-axis) in comparison with when exposures are all at the 50th percentile (P50=0.71). Note: BMI, body mass index; PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome; PFAS, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
