Data points from each study from the meta-analysis are scaled by precision (inverse of s.e.), and k is the number of effect sizes with the number of species in brackets. ARR is the acclimation response ratio. Ninety-five per cent confidence intervals not overlapping 0 are statistically significant. Graphs were constructed using the orchaRd package [50]. Tuatara was removed for visual purposes due to the small number of effect sizes (n = 3).
