In plasma and neutrophils, the hCAP-18 holoprotein is seen as a single band of 18 kDa. In exocytosed material from neutrophils, two products resulting from proteolytic cleavage of the holoprotein are seen: a 14-kDa band corresponding to the cathelin part and a 5-kDa band corresponding to LL-37. In seminal plasma, a doublet band is seen, an upper part of approximately 18 kDa and another that is slightly smaller.
