Severe demyelination and axonal degeneration were observed in the RR-EAE, but not in the resistant mice. Frozen cross sections of spinal cords from the RR-EAE (relapse (+)) (A–C) and the resistant (relapse (−)) mice (D–F) were stained with anti-MBP ((A,D), red) and anti-SMI32 ((B,E), green) antibodies.
