The figure showed the measurement of canal-to-calcar ratio. Lines at both the medial and lateral aspects of the medullary canal were placed at 3 cm and 10 cm, respectively. Lateral and medial lines were connected, and the distance between the intersections of these lines with the mid-lesser trochanteric line was measured as the calcar width. The intramedullary femoral canal width was measured as the distance between the medial and lateral markers at the 10 cm level. The canal-to-calcar ratio was calculated as the fraction of the 10 cm level width divided by the calcar canal width.
