Secretory cytokine levels at 6 h and 20 h post-wounded normal primary LECs transfected with miR-146a mimic (M) vs. mimic control (MC), and diabetic primary LECs transfected with miR-146a inhibitor (I) vs. inhibitor control (IC). IL-1α (A) and IL-1β (B), IL6 (C) and IL8 (D) showed significant to modest decrease in M vs. MC transfected normal LECs at 6 h and 20 h post-wounding. While transfected DM LECs with inhibitor vs. IC showed significant to modest increase at 6 h and 20 h post-wounding similar to the level observed in non-treated normal LECs.
