Values represent de novo viral p19 antigen detected in cell culture supernatants of PBMC infected by coculture with 293T-ACH or 293-ACH.p12 cells. Data points are the means of triplicate samples ± SEM and represent two independent experiments. ACH.p12 produced in 293T cells has a significantly lower infectivity in quiescent PBMC than the wild type, while no significant difference can be observed in activated PBMC. Statistical analysis was performed using Student's t test (P < 0.01).
