Male and female IL-10 KO mice are not protected by the Mg2800 diet. A–C) The Mg2800 diet was protective in wild-type (WT) C57BL/6 mice, but was not protective in the IL10 KO mice. The IL10 KO mice on the Mg2800 diet developed arthritis as severe as those of the WT and IL10 KO mice receiving the Mg500 diet (7 females and 8 males per group); D) The Mg2800 diet group was associated with reduced numbers of IL17+ cells both in WT and E) but not in the IL10 KO mice; F) CD4+Foxp3+ cells were increased in the Mg2800 diet in WT mice; G) but not in the IL10 KO (∗p ≤ 0.015, ∗∗p ≤ 0.009; ∗∗∗p ≤ 0.0001 shown as mean ± SEM).
