Infection with YF-pOva-8 is an effective immunotherapeutic treatment for pulmonary metastases. Mice were inoculated i.v. with 5 × 104 or 1 × 105 B16-Ova tumor cells and then inoculated s.c. with YF-pOva-8 (3 × 105 PFU/mouse) or controls (naïve or YF virus 17D) at 0, 5, or 10 days postinjection of tumor cells. (A) The lungs of treated mice were evaluated in a coded, blind manner for pulmonary metastases 30 days after the tumor cell inoculation. The number of pulmonary metastases is shown for individual mice. (B) Pictures of lungs treated with YF-pOva-8 or 17D at day 30 after tumor cell inoculation. (C) Survival is plotted as the percentage of surviving animals versus time. All experiments included 10 mice per group.
