Extended Data Fig. 5

(A) Core body temperature (Tcore) and (B) metabolic rate (VO2) for mice receiving ultrasound stimulation in different ambient temperatures (6 °C, 22 °C, and 30 °C). US sonication is indicated by the pink bars. Solid lines and shadows denote the mean ± s.e.m. Error bars denote s.e.m. Each dot represents one mouse. Max ΔTcore and max VO2 were calculated by computing the difference between the minimum value obtained within the 70 min period following the start of ultrasound and the baseline value which was defined as the mean body temperature of the 5-min window occurring 1 minute prior to the ultrasound stimulation. N = 4 mice for all the groups. P values were calculated using a one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s post-hoc test comparing to the 22 °C ambient temperature group.
