Susceptibility of Hap-I and Hap-II transgenic (TG) mice to Francisella tularensis LVS infection. Adult and old Hap-I (hypertensive) and Hap-II (normotensive-control) TG mice (n = 5 per group) were infected intranasally with 1 × LD100 (1 × 104 CFU) (A,B) or 10 × LD100 (1 × 105 CFU) (C,D) dose of F. tularensis LVS and were observed for morbidity and mortality for 15 days post-infection. Survival results are plotted as Kaplan-Meir survival curves (A,C) and the body weights are represented as percent initial body weight (B,D). The survival data were analyzed using the Log-rank test. *p < 0.05.
