A proposed model for the regulatory mechanism of AcePosF21-mediated AsA biosynthesis and cold stress response. Under cold stress, AcePosF21 is induced by the cold signal and then interacts with AceMYB102 to activate AceGGP3 expression for upgrading the AsA synthesis to scavenge ROS, reducing the oxidative damage from cold stress in kiwifruit. AsA is induced by cold stress to eliminate excess ROS and reduce plant cold damage.
