Protoplasts were isolated with purified cellulase after 4-h treatment (4−) or with non-purified cellulase after 4- or 16-h treatment (4+ and 16+). AOS were measured in 105 protoplasts (intracellularly) and in the respective culture medium (extracellularly). Values are the means ± se of 10 independent experiments.
