The counteracting effect of hypomorphic
hsf1 on growth in response to
azf1Δ mutation in both wild‐type and
sef1Δ backgrounds.
HSF1 is an essential gene in yeast (Solís Eric
et al,
2016), so a hypomorphic
hsf1 mutation with a truncated C‐terminus (460–557 amino acids removed; Sorger,
1990) rather than a null mutant was used in
L. kluyveri strains.
