CAT activity present in oocytes injected with pGL3-luciferase and pCAT-control in the presence or absence of +578 (5′-GAAGAAGTGGGGGTAAAAG) with a DEED-modified backbone were compared. pCAT-control contains a purine rich sequence, 5′-GAAAACGGGGGCGAAGAAG. The percent CAT activity was adjusted for luciferase expression and is given as the mean ± SE of two independent trials. pCAT-control was arbitrarily set to 100% to allow for interassay comparison.
