For each burnout component, groups were created based on the levels of that component both before and during COVID-19: “stable low” if both were below the respective medians, “stable high” if both were higher than the respective medians, “improved” if the subcomponent level was above the respective median before COVID-19 and below during COVID-19, “worsened” if the subcomponent level was below the respective median before COVID-19 and above during COVID-19.
