Notes: Authors’ reconstruction of Annie E. Casey KIDS COUNT Index. Overall and domain index scores are standardized across all state‐year combinations. While the KIDS COUNT index has changed over time, we apply the most recent methodology to all years of data shown here, based on the redesign which occurred in 2011. This version of the index reverts to using the measure of illicit drug use, instead of obesity, which was changed in the 2020 chartbook. ¹⁸
