Sagittal T2-weighted (A) and axial proton-density–weighted (B) fat-suppressed MR images show lateral maltracking of the patella and patellar tendon, with the lateral aspect of the patellar tendon (arrowhead in B) extending laterally to the lateral trochlear ridge. There is also subjacent ill-defined edema (arrow) within the superolateral aspect of the infrapatellar fat pad, consistent with fat pad impingement.
