Note. The table provides demographic and clinical information for the group of 59 participants. All patients were stabilized on a regime of antipsychotics. In addition, two (6%) were prescribed antidepressants, eight (25%) anxiolytics, and seven (22%) mood stabilizers. Clinical symptom severity was assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) (Kay et al., 1987) (total PANSS is reported). The duration of illness was derived from the most likely date of onset of psychotic symptoms (hallucinations, delusions, or disorganization of thinking; bizarre or catatonic behavior) using all clinical information, including medical records, reports by family members or significant others, and the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM Disorders interview.
