All licensed child-care services in the Auckland, Counties Manukau and Waikato District Health Board regions, excluding infant and toddler centres, home-based services, playgroups, unlicensed crèches and hospital-based services (for patients).

The New Zealand Index of Neighbourhood Deprivation (NZDep2006) is a composite measure of socio-economic indicators from neighbourhood areas in the 2006 census( 24 ). Assigned based on the census meshblock (geographical location) of the child-care service.
