Source is the Ministry of Education’s Annual ECE Census Report 2013, which conflates private and community day-care, so the 25 h/week is an average across the two types of service.

The New Zealand Index of Neighbourhood Deprivation (NZDep2006) is a composite measure of socio-economic indicators from neighbourhood areas in the 2006 census( 24 ). Assigned based on the census meshblock (geographical location) of the child-care service.
