Duration of being breast-fed and associated differences from the mean (β coefficients with 95 % confidence interval represented by vertical bars) for the Health Plate Variety Score (HPVS) in children in four European countries. Generalized linear models were adjusted for child gender, maternal age, education status and smoking status, age of introduction to solids, age of introduction to fruit and age of introduction to vegetables. Being breast-fed for 3–6 months was used as the reference category (ALSPAC, Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children; EDEN, Etude des Déterminants pre et postnatals de la santé et du développement de l’Enfant)
