General procedure. Top: For each trial, the subject had to touch the sample stimulus and then one of the two comparison stimuli presented on the screen (the schematic hand depicts the trained behavior). Bottom: Subjects were assigned to two groups, and each group was exposed to two successive runs of training and testing using two new pairings of stimuli for each run. The Sym and NonSym conditions were presented in a counterbalanced order for the two groups and two runs
