Evaluation of conidiation. (A) Visualization of conidiation. Mycelial agar plugs (5 mm diameter) were inoculated onto oatmeal agar (OMA) and incubated at 25 °C in the dark for three days. The obtained OMA mycelial agar plugs were placed on the hydrophilic surface of a glass slide and incubated in a humid plastic box at 25 °C in the light for 5 h. Scale bar = 50 µm; (B) Quantitative evaluation of conidiation. Three-day-old OMA mycelial agar plugs (5 mm diameter) were inoculated to potato dextrose agar (PDA) and incubated at 25 °C for five days in darkness followed by two days under light. Conidia were harvested with 5 mL of sterilized distilled water.
