Comparisons of the two groups divided by reference point of anterior compression of the spinal cord (anterior length: 0 mm, 1 mm or 2 mm). When the patients were sub-grouped by anterior cord length of 1 mm at the maximal compression segment, the patients with an anterior length of <1 mm had significantly lower scores in each of four sections and the total JOA scores than those with an anterior cord length of ≥1 mm (p < 0.05), but the differences were scarce when the patients were divided by the anterior cord length of 0 or 2 mm (UEF: upper extremity function, and LEF: lower extremity function).
