Hamsters were infected with the indicated virus at 105 PFU. One day after infection, naïve hamsters were exposed to the infected hamsters. The infected hamsters (left) and the exposed hamsters (right) were euthanized at 4 days post-infection or 3 days post-exposure. Nasal turbinates (gray bars) and lungs (black bars) were collected for virus titration on VeroE6/TMPRSS2 cells. A two-sided Fisher’s exact test showed that the transmission efficiency between hamsters was not statistically different among the three groups.
