Fig. 4 — Hamsters were infected with the indicated virus at 10⁵ PFU. One day after infection, naïve hamsters were exposed to the infected hamsters. The infected hamsters (left) and the exposed hamsters (right) were euthanized at 4 days post-infection or 3 days post-exposure. Nasal turbinates (gray bars) and lungs (black bars) were collected for virus titration on VeroE6/TMPRSS2 cells. A two-sided Fisher’s exact test showed that the transmission efficiency between hamsters was not statistically different among the three groups.
