Co-occurring conditions are defined by the presence of any claim with that International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision diagnosis anywhere in the acute care episode, including individuals with a primary ED diagnosis of autism. Blue indicates change from baseline to pandemic year 1, and orange indicates change from baseline to pandemic year 2. ADHD indicates attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder; SUD, substance use disorder.
