Effect of being randomised to vitamin D supplementation on mean pain score within subgroups. Here effect estimate (mean difference) is comparing vitamin D with placebo and it is adjusted for age, sex and state. Mean difference is calculated using all available records; generalised estimating equations with exchangeable correlation matrix are used to account for intra-person correlation. P value for interaction is from a linear model.
