Experimental designs and animal groups. (A) Experimental design showing the administration of paclitaxel, transplanted fecal microbiota, and broad-spectrum antibiotics. (B) The first experiment investigated the effects of broad-spectrum antibiotics and transplanted fecal microbiota on mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia in PIPN rats. The second experiment investigated the effects of the astrocytic inhibitor fluorocitrate on mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia in PIPN rats. The third experiment investigated the effects of the TLR4 inhibitor (TAK242) and the p38 inhibitor (SB203580) on mechanical allodynia, thermal hyperalgesia, and astrocyte activity in PIPN rats.
