Characterization of activity peaks in pdf01 mutants. (A) Representative activity profiles of four males each of w1118 controls (top) and pdf01 mutants (bottom) overlaid with SG-filtered waveforms show advanced evening peaks and reduced morning peaks in pdf01 flies. We quantified phases and heights of both morning and evening activity peaks and found that phase of morning peak is significantly delayed in pdf01 flies (B; W = 264.5; p = 0.0009), and the height of morning peak is significantly lower compared to w1118 flies (C; W = 879; p = 1.581e-07). On the other hand, the phase of evening peak is significantly advanced (D; W = 794.5; p = 0.0001521) and its height significantly lower (E; W = 800; p = 6.718e-05) in pdf01 mutants compared to w1118 flies. Comparisons were done using Mann-Whitney U tests implemented on R. * < 0.05, ** < 0.01, *** < 0.001, and NS (Not Significant).
